Best Gold Coast Skate Destinations
Roller Skating Near Me - Gold Coast
Little Rookie has put together a list of the best places you can skate on the Gold Coast. Whether you’re a skatepark gremlin, or more of the leisure skating type, here are the best places to get your skating fix on the Gold Coast.
Skate Parks:
- Pizzey Park, Miami
If you’re searching for the biggest and best skatepark on the Gold Coast, look no further than Pizzey Park. Located on the southern end of the GC, this park has all you’ll need from beginner ramps to big bowls. Pizzey is known to draw a decent crowd, so if you’re after some chill, private skating then it’s best to give this bad boy a miss.

- Level Up Indoor Skatepark, Currumbin
This awesome facility is open to the public for 2 hour skate sessions at $20 a pop. They have ramps galore and even foam pits so you can practise tricks safely.

- Varsity Skatepark, Varsity Lakes
Varsity is an oldie but a goodie. One of the more medium sized skateparks on the GC and definitely worth a visit if you’re down the southside of the coast.

- Nerang Skatepark, Nerang
If you are looking for a park that’s a little less south, Nerang has got you covered. This park has plenty of street features as well that will provide endless entertainment.

Leisure Skating
- Tugun to Bilinga Oceanway
You can’t beat this beautiful, smooth track right by the beach. This 2km stretch starts at the Tugun SLSC and the smooth path ends at Bilinga SLSC. If you’re a confident skater you can ride the path further however it does get a little bumpy. This is one of the longest and smoothest skating paths on the Gold Coast and only has a few small slopes to conquer for beginners. The path is surrounded by grass so you can bail if you are still new to stopping, but do be mindful as it can get quite busy on the weekends.

- Runaway Bay Netball Courts
Netball courts are a fantastic place to practise your transitions, dancing or even just waddle around if you are a beginner. The courts at Runaway Bay are smooth and often very quiet, so good for those of you who are shy skaters.

- Surfers Paradise Boardwalk
Like Tugun, this is a lovely stretch of smooth path in the heart of the Gold Coast. It comes in a little shorter in distance than Tugun and is often busier due to the location, but if you head down on a weekday the footpath won't be as crowded. Just make sure to avoid when the markets are on as they are a no skating zone.

- Broadwater Parklands, Southport
The parklands is a great destination for both beginners and those wanting to get out of their comfort zone with different terrains and slopes. You’ll find relatively smooth, flat paths down by the girl on a hill statue and a mixture of terrains and slopes if you head towards the parklands playground and the waterpark. The best path for beginners is up towards the boat ramp where you’ll also find a playground and a big grassy area for pets to play.

- Southport to Surfers Adventure Skate
If you are after a long skate and are confident on a mixture of rough and smooth terrains, then this adventure skate is for you. There are a few routes to take and an all round trip will be approximately 9kms, so it is not for the faint of heart. The skate starts at the Broadwater Parklands and takes you to the heart of Surfers Paradise. There will be pedestrian crossings and tram lines, so make sure you wear your protective gear in case you get tripped up.
